Featured Adoptables

Princess & Momma
These gorgeous girls are 4-year-old Princess (left) and 5-year-old Momma (right). These two sisters were brought into our care because of their owners declining health. Both kitties are very sweet and affectionate. Princess is calm and is shyer than her sister, Momma, who is always eager to make new friends and explore her surroundings. These two sweethearts miss their owner terribly, but know they will soon get a fresh start in a new furever home with another family. We also ask that, since either can't imagine life without the other, that they be adopted together. Can you give these sisters a new home?

Millie
Say hello to our sweet, little Millie. This gorgeous senior lady is a little shy at first, but a few ear scratches is all it takes to bring her out of her shell. Millie was brought to LHS because her owner did not have enough time to give her the care, love and attention she needs and wants. So if you are looking for a new companion and have endless love to give, stop by and ask for Millie. She is waiting for that perfect someone to give her the perfect retirement home.

Chris
This young man is 2-year-old Chris! Chris was surrendered to LHS because of his owner's allergies. When meeting new people, Chris is friendly from the get go and is willing to accept any loving from anyone willing to give it. After he's had his fill of loving, Chris is ready for play time, chasing any toy brave enough to come near him. As if he isn't wonderful enough, Chris is also very talktaive and is more than capable of holding his end of the conversation. So if you are looking for a great new addition to your family, Chris is your guy!

Smokey
This handsome boy's name is Smokey! This big kitty is very friendly and affectionate, and if you try to move away, you will soon find he will follow you everywhere to make sure he gets more pets. He also loves laps so be prepared for head-butt-hugs and nose-to-nose kisses when you sit down. Smokey came to LHS because his previous owner had too many animals. He is now hoping to find a furever home where he will get the one-on-one love and attention he needs. So if you are looking for the perfect cuddle bug who loves hugs and kisses, just ask for Smokey!

Things Happening This Weekend

We are hosting our first vaccine clinic of the year THIS Saturday! Join us Saturday, March 19th here at the LHS Annex Building from 12:00-4:00. In addition to vaccines for cats and dogs, we will also be microchipping for just $15. Vaccine packages range from $20-35. There are no appointments as this clinic is first come, first serve, so please expect a wait. We are not able to vaccinate feral animals. To learn more about this clinic, please visit our website: http://bit.ly/1o61w3A
Can't make it this weekend? Don't worry! We will be holding another clinic on Saturday, April 16th.

Stop by Home Savings & Loan (7707 Mentor Avenue) this weekend for their Paws For A Cause Bake Sale! They will be there 9:00am-5:00pm on Friday and 9:00am-1:00pm on Saturday. All of the proceeds will benefit Lake Humane Society and the animals in our care. What better way to help pets in need than by enjoying some tasty homemade treats!

New Adoption Special
St. Patty's Day is tomorrow and in honor of this fun holiday, and to find as many homes for our pets as possible, we have lowered our adoption fees. From now until March 20th, adult cats can be adopted for just $17 and adult dogs are $30 (plus 20.75 dog license fee). We've got some really great and well deserving pets waiting for their new family to come along. Here are just a few of the pets in our care available for adoption:

Clyde
Some of you may remember Drexler, who was adopted shortly after making his TV debut on Channel 3 News. Well, Drexler may have found his new home, but his brother, Clyde, has not been so lucky. Clyde has been in our care since December and he hopes to find a new home and family that he can call his own. Clyde is very active, playful, and full of energy. He is a little over a year old so he is looking for a family with the time, energy, a fenced in back yard and the means to keep a young dog happy and healthy. Clyde would do well in a home with kids over the age of 10, but he is not a fan of sharing the love with other pets, so he would need to be an only four-legged child.

Gizmo
This handsome kitty is 9-year-old Gizmo. Gizmo was brought to us in February because of his owner's allergies and this big life change still has him a bit scared and unsure of his new surroundings. This sweet, old man is just looking for a fresh start and a new retirement home where he can spend his golden years relaxed and comfortable. Can you give Gizmo the fresh start he needs? Gizmo can be adopted for just $17 from now until the 20th!

Midnight & Cali
Midnight & Cali are a bonded pair currently available for adoption here at Lake Humane Society. This beautiful brother-sister duo love one another very much, and they just can't imagine life apart. We just couldn't break that bond, so we are hoping to find them a home together. As part of our St. Patty's Day adoption special, you can adopt BOTH of these great cats for just $34.

Belle
My name is Belle, and I am a year and a half old. I'm unique in that I am polydactyl and have more toes than a normal kitty - which helps me catch that thingy-on-a-stick during playtime! One of my favorite pastimes is being petted, at which time my purring motor will go into full gear to let you know how relaxed and happy I am. I came to the shelter because my previous owner could no longer take care of me, and I now need to find a loving home where I will receive a lot of attention and care. So if you are looking for a sweet, affectionate, playful companion, visit Petco in Mentor and ask for Belle!
