Adoption Update

We had 8 ADOPTIONS this past week (3/23-3/29)!
Cats (8): J.P., Dale, B.G., Chuck, Nip Nip, Buddy, Billy Madison and Simon. Congrats to all these animals and their new families!

One of our kitties still waiting for a furever home is Jojo, currently our longest resident. Jojo has been with us since February of 2014. He is shy at first but, once he adjusts to his surroundings, you'll quickly see how friendly he is. This lap cat wouldn't mind living in a quiet home with children over 10 years old or with other male cats. So stop in and see Jojo today! We are open on Mondays until 7:00pm.

We Can't Save Them Without You

We have some exciting news for you! We have revamped our cage sponsorship program here at Lake Humane Society and we would like to invite you to help homeless animals. A cage sponsor covers the daily care of each animal that enters their designated cage for an entire year. We can't provide a gentle and caring haven without YOU!

Our revamped Cage Sponsorship Program provides greater opportunities to help the homeless, abandoned and injured animals of Lake County. While our existing program has helped tremendously over the years, our new program reflects the true cost of care for each animal housed within our shelter. The sponsorship will provide shelter, food, medicine and care for the animals that pass through our facility day after day. In return, cage sponsors will be recognized with a plaque on their sponsored cage for an entire year. Cages can be sponsored by both companies and individuals.

To become a Cage Sponsor and help countless homeless animals, visit our website!

Can't sponsor a cage, but still want to help? Join our "Circle of Compassion" by setting up your monthly recurring donation now! The Circle of Compassion is our new monthly giving program, which gives donors the opportunity to donate the amount of their choice to our shelter each month. All monthly donations will be used to continue our care for Lake County’s homeless animals, and will keep our invaluable programs and services available to our community. Donors can select any amount they'd like and their donation will immediately be put to use in our lifesaving efforts.

To join our Circle of Compassion and set up your monthly donation now, click here!

Be sure to check and see if your company has a matching gift program in place in order to double (or even triple) your impact! We cannot do this without you. We thank you for your support.

Featured Adoptables

Jake
This sweet young man is 5 month old Jake. Those eyes say it all. This little Pitbull Terrier mix is a gentle, friendly, playful and loving boy with time to grow, learn and explore. Jake was surrendered to LHS because his owners didn't have enough time to take care of him. Even though he is still a baby, he already knows a few commands like sit, shake, stay and paw, and he is also crate trained. Jake is hoping to find a forever home where he can continue to grow and play. He would do best in a home with children over the age of ten and can be around cats as long as he is supervised.

Crimmy
This gorgeous girl is 7 year old Crimmy. She may be a bit shy at first but, once she adjusts to you and her surroundings, you will quickly see how playful and affectionate she is. You will also notice that she is quite the talker and is always up for a good conversation. Crimmy was brought to us because her previous owner could no longer take care of her and even though she is happy here at LHS, she would love to find a furever home. She does not enjoy the excitement that comes with living with children so she would do best in an all-adult home. She would, however get along just fine with cat-friendly canine siblings.

Pinto
This little guy is a 2 year old Chihuahua Mix. He was surrendered to LHS because his owners did not have enough time to take care of him. Pinto would make the perfect lap dog for anyone who loves to snuggle. He is calm, playful, loving and a bit shy at times but, he is always ready for attention. Pinto is looking to find a forever home with a family who will give him all the love and attention he deserves. He would do well in a home with children of all ages as well as other canine companions. He would however, prefer to live in a home without cats. So stop on by LHS and visit Pinto. He just might be your next best friend!

BG
This adorable man is BG. Being just over 1 year old, this kitty has a lot of energy and spunk. His favorite things are very large amounts of love, playtime and chasing anything that moves. He is also very much into exploring and will find quickly find all the best places for hide and go seek. So if you are looking for a new companion with endless energy, BG is the cat for you. Featured Adoptables

Angel (Left) & Heaven (Right)
This is Angel, a big calm and quiet kitty. She might be a little shy at first but, it doesn't take long for her to warm up to you. She was brought to the shelter with her sister, Heaven, because their previous owner was moving and could not take them along. They love to snuggle and can't imagine life without one another so, they must be adopted together. They hope to find a forever home with children over the age of 10. Are you the special person they've been waiting for? Please come see them!

Caroline (Left) & Spirit (Right)
Say hello to the beautiful Caroline, a quite calm and affectionate kitty who prefers to be petted often. She is also playful, especially with her favorite jingle ball toy! Caroline was brought to the shelter with her brother, Spirit, because their previous owner could no longer take care of them. Caroline and Spirit also can't imagine life without each other, so we ask that they be adopted together. Their perfect forever home is a home where they both will be loved. They would do best in a home with children over the age of 10. So if you're looking to add two sweet, affectionate companions to your life (and lap), just ask for Caroline and Spirit.
