Spread Some Holiday Cheer

Spread some holiday cheer to the homeless animals here at Lake Humane Society. We are currently providing food, water, shelter, love and medical attention to hundreds of animals. As you could imagine, a lot of supplies are needed in order to give these animals the proper care they deserve.

This holiday season, please consider making a donation to our cause. Whether you make a monetary donation or bring in some items for our critters, YOU are helping! Everyday we see animals who are abandoned, neglected, abused or forgotten about. It is especially heartbreaking during the holidays because all we want for each animal is for them to find a forever home.

You can help us care for our animals and find them homes!
Here is how you can help our animals:

Giving Tuesday: Make A Difference

Now that the Black Friday and Cyber Monday madness have passed, it's your chance to be part of a special movement called "Giving Tuesday".   Launched in 2012, Giving Tuesday is a nationwide push to kick off the holiday season with a day of giving back to causes that matter.

As a private, non-profit organization, Lake Humane Society relies solely on donations made by the community to fund their efforts to save lives and make a difference. Each year thousands of animals, whether they are stray, injured, abandoned or abused, come to Lake Humane for a second chance at a happy and healthy life. Without loyal supporters, like you, LHS could not continue to care for these innocent animals who so desperately count on them.

Start the holiday season off with the warm feeling of knowing you've made a difference in the life of a homeless animal here at Lake Humane Society. Please donate today

We are always in need of donated items in order to provide the care our animals need. If you'd prefer donating supplies, please view our wish list to get some ideas!

We thank you for your consideration and hope you will help us care for the homeless animals of Lake County.

Featured Adoptables

We would like to share some of our adoptable animals here at Lake Humane Society. We have 80 animals currently looking for homes in our care and hundreds more waiting to be placed up for adoption. When considering adding a new furry family member to your household, please make adoption your only option!

Tank is a 5-year-old Siberian Husky who was surrendered to LHS because his previous owner did not have enough time for him. Tank is a gentle and sweet boy and he can be pretty independent at times. Tank still has a lot of love to give... will you make him part of your family?

Friendly, affectionate Marney came to the LHS when his previous owner died. He loves to be groomed & stroked! He's front declawed and wouldn't mind living with children over five years or other cats or dogs. But he has never lived with female cats. He's worth a look!

We have so many more animals available for adoption. Be sure to visit our website and check out all of the cuteness! Save a life... Adopt a shelter animal!

Adopt a Shelter Animal & Save a Life!

Here at Lake Humane Society we have so many animals in need of a loving home. Some animals have been here 3 months, others 6 months and some over a year. It is our goal to make sure that these wonderful animals find the homes they so deserve.

Are you considering adding a companion to your family? Go to your local animal shelter and ADOPT! Each adopter saves not one life, but two. When an animal is adopted, their cage opens up to another homeless, abandoned or abused animal - giving both of the animals a second chance!

As if that doesn't make adoption appealing enough, we are also holding an adoption special for all cats at LHS! Kittens up to 6 months can be adopted for just $50 (regularly $100) and cats over 6 months old can be adopted for just $10 (regularly $30-50)!

Lulu, a 5-year-old Shar Pei mix.

Mars, a 3-year-old male.

To view all of our adoptable dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs and other small animals, click here!

Mondays & Thursdays: 12:00-7:00
Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays: 12:00-5:00
