Share the Love this Holiday Season

For the first time ever, Lake Humane Society and Rescue Village are partnering up to co-host a huge adoption event. This event has been made possible through a grant provided by the ASPCA.

During the event, Lake Humane Society and Rescue Village will have a variety of dogs, cats, puppies and kittens available for adoption at reduced fees. It is our hope to find loving homes for every last animal. Please help us do so by choosing adoption this holiday season and visiting with our adoptable animals. Stop by anytime between 10:00AM and 4:00PM.

We hope to leave the event without a single animal left homeless. All these animals want is a forever home with endless love and companionship!

Miles for Mutts 5K to Benefit Animals in Need

Our first ever 5K race is just weeks away and we are beyond excited. We have partnered with our friends at Anytime Fitness in Concord to bring Lake County and the surrounding communities an active way to help the homeless animals in our care. This out and back 5K (3.1 miles) will start and end at Anytime Fitness in Concord. There will be awards for our top runners and you will be greeted by some LHS adoptable animals, staff and volunteers at the finish line! We welcome both walkers and runners to participate and help save lives!

MILES FOR MUTTS 5K
Saturday, September 27, 2014
Anytime Fitness in Concord
8:00 AM

All proceeds from Miles for Mutts 5K will benefit the homeless animals at Lake Humane Society. Animals like Aziriyah and Tennessee. Aziriyah came to LHS because her previous owner was moving and could not take her along. They surrendered her to LHS and she was absolutely terrified at first. Now, she is much more comfortable and adorably, another LHS adoptable dog, Timmy, has helped her come out of her shell and gain more confidence.

Tennessee came to LHS after being abandoned by his owner. He has been waiting at LHS for his forever home ever since. He likes everyone to know he's there, so when we get visitors at the shelter he's always showing off his singing voice. He talks and talks day after day and somehow he's still here.

There are hundreds of other animals, like Aziriyah and Tennessee, who have nowhere else to turn and count on us to help give them the second chance they deserve. Can you help us help them? We can't continue our lifesaving work without YOU!

Lake Humane Society has been saving lives since 1937 and relies solely on donations. By participating in fundraising events, like Miles for Mutts, you are not only helping to bring awareness to this cause, but also helping to raise much needed funds. We hope you will help us make our first annual 5K a success and register today!

Registration for Anytime Fitness members is just $15 and $20 for non-members.

Do you want to run or walk in Miles for Mutts and save lives?

Help Save the Homeless Animals of Lake County at Mutt Strut

Our 20th Annual Mutt Strut is just 3 weeks away. We are so excited to be celebrating 20 wonderful years of this event. Mutt Strut is our favorite fundraising event because we get to watch all of our supporters jump into action and raise money for the homeless animals in their community. It's truly inspiring to see people of all ages gather together after raising thousands of dollars for the animals in need.

It's not too late to start collecting donations for our shelter. No donation is too small and every dollar raised will go directly to the care of the animals here at LHS. Fundraisers have two options:

Once you've decided how you want to go about raising money, just start asking everyone you know to make a donation. Ask friends, family, neighbors, co-workers, whoever you can! You can ask them via e-mail or social media or face-to-face. The options are endless! To show our appreciation for our dedicated fundraisers, we are offering some awesome prizes. The more you raise, the more prizes you are eligible for. Our top fundraisers will also get additional gifts and will be announced at the event.

We hope you'll start raising money for our homeless animals and join us on August 23rd to celebrate all of your life-saving work! To learn more about Mutt Strut, click here!
