Featured Adoptables

This handsome face belongs to Blaze, a 4 year old Labrador Retriever Mix. We transferred Blaze in from the Ashtabula APL because they had too many dogs and needed help. He is a friendly, laid back, playful boy who loves attention. He knows how to sit on command and would probably be able to pick up other commands with a little work. Blaze is now looking for the forever home he deserves so stop by LHS and pay him a visit!

Say hello to Bradley. He is a friendly, loving, playful, 8 month old Hound mix puppy. After the Ashtabula APL asked for our help in caring for the abundance of dogs they took in, we transferred Bradley here to LHS. Even though, Bradley is happy and healthy with us, he is hoping to find a forever home with children over the age of 10. Come pay him a visit, he just might be your next best friend!

This big man is Fluffy. He is a calm, affectionate kitty who's favorite pastimes are getting pets, head scratches and hanging out in anyone's lap. Fluffy was brought to the shelter as a stray and is now looking to find his furever home where he will feel safe and loved. He would do best in a home with children over the age of five and would also get along well with other male feline siblings. So if you are looking for a friendly, handsome guy to keep you company, just ask for Fluffy.

This handsome face belongs to Kittie Pie. He is very sweet and
affectionate. He is also very curious and enjoys exploring his surroundings
and discovering new places. Kitte Pie was brought into the shelter as a stray
with a head injury. He has since had treatment and his injury has healed.
Even though he is grateful for the care we give him, he is hoping to find a new forever home. So if you are looking for a calm, affectionate, curious kitty who gives head butts (hugs), just ask for Kittie Pie.

Will You Be Blue's Valentine?

Open Your Heart To A Homeless Animal in Need

Animals have so much love to give. All they want is a human to share their life with. Someone to cuddle them at night, a companion to go on walks and new adventures with, a best friend forever. Abused, neglected and abandoned animals may never know such simple acts of kindness.

With your help, we can mend these broken hearts and give second chances to the animals who need it most. Thanks to our generous supporters, we were able to care for and find loving homes for 1,104 animals. These 1,104 animals now have the happily ever after they've always dreamt of. We were able to help these animals because of you.

Blue and hundreds of other homeless animals are currently in our care. They are all searching for their forever home. Please consider opening your heart and your home to a shelter pet. Can't adopt? Please give a donation so we can continue our lifesaving efforts. We cannot do this without your support.

Max & Annie Need Your Help

Max, a 3-year-old Labrador mix, was surrendered to us in January after his owner passed away. He is a very sweet, adorable, happy-go-lucky kind of guy. Max will make a great addition to any family and he just can't wait to find his forever home. Unfortunately, Max is suffering from a torn CCL (Cranial Cruciate Ligament) and he requires an extensive surgery.

We have scheduled surgery for Max on March 3rd. After his operation, Max will enter a foster home while he heals and once he has fully recovered, he will be available for adoption. We have gotten a quote for the Tibial Tuberosity Advancement (TTA) surgery that Max will need and it will cost us $2,000. A very generous supporter has donated $1,000 to be used towards the surgery, but we still need to raise another $1,000 for this sweet boy. Please make a donation and help us give Max a happy, healthy and pain-free life.

Anastasia, also known as Annie, is a 1-year-old Pit Bull mix. She entered our care in November as an injured stray. Annie has such a sweet, playful and loving demeanor. After a short time with us, Annie quickly became a staff favorite. Annie is searching for that perfect family, but before she can be adopted, she needs to undergo surgery. Annie has built up scar tissue which was caused by chronic ear infections that went untreated.

We have gotten a quote for the procedure Annie requires and it will cost nearly $1,500. Can you help Annie? Make a donation today so that Annie can get the medical attention she needs. It's the only thing holding her back from getting a home!

100% of all donations made will be used for Max and Annie's care. Any remaining donations will be transferred to our "Angel Fund" and saved for the next recipient in need of extensive medical care. In order to help both of these sweet dogs, we need to raise $2,500. Please donate and help spread the word. We appreciate your compassion and support.

Find "The One" This Valentine's Day
