#GivingTuesday Is Near!

#GivingTuesday is a movement that was started in 2012. The purpose of Giving Tuesday is to create a national day of giving to kick off the holiday season. After doing lots of shopping for you and your loved ones on Black Friday and Cyber Monday, make a donation to a charitable organization close to your heart on December 1st.

Here at Lake Humane Society, we care for hundreds of injured, abused and abandoned animals each month. Without our organization, unwanted, homeless or abandoned pets in Lake County would have nowhere to turn. Families who fall on hard times would not have a valuable resource within their community. Our volunteers and supporters would be missing a piece of themselves without the opportunity to visit and help these homeless pets each day. Please help us continue to touch the lives of the people and pets of Lake County. Click here to make a tax deductible donation today:

To help year-round, join our Circle of Compassion monthly giving program. Circle of Compassion donors sign up to make a monthly gift of their choice. $25 per month, just 83¢ a day, can provide homeless pets in need the gift of hope. The gift of love. The gift of a happily ever after. We depend on the community's continuous and loyal support. Click here to learn more.

Happy Thanksgiving!

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of YOU!
Our donors, staff, board of directors, adopters, volunteers, fosters, and advocates. We owe our success in saving lives and defending and protecting pets in need all to you, our loyal supporters. Without your devotion, whether you donate your time or money, we could not do what we do. We are truly thankful for you and your loyalty that keeps us going.
We hope you enjoy this day of giving thanks with your loved ones. Happy Thanksgiving!

Help Us Make Their Holiday Just As Bright
We would also like to take this time to remind you that while many adopted pets will find pieces of turkey in their bowls, there are so many unfortunate animals who were unable to find forever homes before the holiday. Help us make their Thanksgiving just as great by donating a special gift. For just $6 you can provide care for an entire day as well as a Thanksgiving meal for one of our shelter pets.

Give this gift to a loving animal today! They will be forever thankful. Click here to donate now.

Featured Adoptables

 Lucy
This adorable young lady is Lucy. She is only 6 months old so she has plenty of playful energy to burn. She loves her toys and will pretty much chase anything that moves. Lucy was brought to us because her owner had too many animals and was unable to care for them all. She is now waiting for a furever home with a new loving family. So if you are looking for a young, playful kitten, Lucy is your girl!

Geo
Look at that handsome face! This young man is 6-month-old Geo. Geo is a bit shy but he knows his good looks will get him far. All this young boy wants is a little tender loving care and well, it doesn't take much to get this purring machine going. Geo was brought to LHS as a stray and after being out in the world all on his own, he is ready to find a home that can show him just what it means to be a part of a family. Stop in and see him today. He just might be your next best friend!

M.J. Susie
This steely gray kitty is M.J. Susie. This sweet 1-year-old is a little shy, but with just a few ear scratches, her affectionate side comes out! She is also very playful and is sure to entertain both you and herself for hours. M.J. Susie was surrendered as a stray by a Good Samaritan and she is now hoping to find that forever home that she has heard so much about. Can you give her the home she deserves? Stop in and pay her a visit today!

Roxy
This gentle giant is 6-year-old Roxy. Even though she hasn't been with us long, her gentle, loving, and polite personality has already won our hearts. Roxy is a Rottweiler mix who, sadly, was surrendered because her owner was moving and could not take her along. Roxy is one laid back dog and could use a diet and little exercise. She would love to find a home with a fenced in back yard and an owner who has the time and patience to get her back to a healthy weight. Come see her today! She just might be the next great addition to your family!

Flap Jack
Look at that gorgeous face! This handsome man is 2-year-old Flap Jack. He is a little shy and can be easily afraid but this comes as no surprise. Unfortuanltey, the health of Flap Jack's previous owner made it hard for them to care for him. And, like many of the new animals here, Flap Jack is still getting used to life at the shelter. All this sweet boy needs is a new loving home where he will get the one-on-one love and attention his so dearly misses. Because Flap Jack takes some time to adjust, he would do best in a home with children over the age of 10. Visit Flap Jack today!

Juno
Meet Juno! This 9-month-old is full of spunk, energy and love! She is a little shy at first, but pull out her favorite toy, and you'll quickly become her new best friend. Her favorite time of the day, besides dinner, is playtime. She chases anything that moves and can easily entertain both herself and you for hours. And once playtime is over, a wind down of ear scratches and head rubs is all it takes to get her purring machine going. Since her previous owner could no longer take care of her, Juno hopes you will give her a forever home where she can grow, play, explore and just be happy! Stop in, pay her a visit, and take home your new best friend today!

Sue
This gorgeous black cat is Sue. Sue is a calm kitty and can be a little shy at times. Some tender words and a pet here and there is all it takes for her to warm up to you. She loves attention and is quite the talker too! There is no such thing as quite with this sweet lady around. Sue was brought into the shelter because her owner's allergies kept them from giving her the love and attention she needs. This laid back kitty is just looking for someone new who will give her the home she deserves. Are you that someone?

Collins
