Don't Shop... ADOPT!

Summer is coming to an end and we still have so many wonderful animals waiting to be adopted! We have cats, kittens, dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs and other small animals. When considering adding a new four-legged member to your family, always make adoption your only option!

We'd like to introduce you to some of our adoptable dogs here at Lake Humane.

CAUTION: Extreme cuteness!

LOGAN
Logan is an adorable 2-year-old Retriever mix with a huge personality! Logan has lots of energy, so he would do best with a family who is very active and would enjoy taking him for walks and playing with him. Logan has lots of love to give!

RUBY
Ruby is a 10-year-old English Bull Dog who was surrendered to our shelter because her owner could no longer afford her. Ruby is a very sweet, gentle and loving girl who is sure to put a smile on your face. Ruby is looking for that perfect home to live out her retirement years in!

BRODY
Brody is a 3-year-old Lab/Shar-Pei mix available for adoption here at LHS. Brody came to our shelter because his owner was moving and couldn't take him along. Brody is a good boy - he is very well mannered. He's ready to go to a home where he is loved unconditionally.

We have many other dogs in our care here at LHS. To check them out, click here to visit our website!

Adopt a Shelter Animal & Save a Life!

Here at Lake Humane Society we have so many animals in need of a loving home. Some animals have been here 3 months, others 6 months and some over a year. It is our goal to make sure that these wonderful animals find the homes they so deserve.

Are you considering adding a companion to your family? Go to your local animal shelter and ADOPT! Each adopter saves not one life, but two. When an animal is adopted, their cage opens up to another homeless, abandoned or abused animal - giving both of the animals a second chance!

As if that doesn't make adoption appealing enough, we are also holding an adoption special for all cats at LHS! Kittens up to 6 months can be adopted for just $50 (regularly $100) and cats over 6 months old can be adopted for just $10 (regularly $30-50)!

Lulu, a 5-year-old Shar Pei mix.

Mars, a 3-year-old male.

Our Visiting Hours:
Mondays & Thursdays: 12:00-7:00
Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays: 12:00-5:00
We are closed Wednesdays and all major holidays.
We end all adoptions 30 minutes prior to closing.

Mutt Strut - Just ONE Month Away!

Our 19th Annual Mutt Strut is just one month away which still gives you plenty of time to raise money for the animals in need here at Lake Humane Society. Our goal for this year is to raise $25,000 for the injured, abused and abandoned animals in our care. As many of you know, we do not receive any government funding, nor are we operated or funded by any national humane organizations. We rely solely on contributions from individuals and local businesses that care about animals and our service to the community.

Each year, we count on a wonderful group of shelter ambassadors to go out into the community and raise money for our animals. We hope that you will consider participating this year in order to make a difference in the lives of so many homeless animals!

Fundraisers have a couple different methods to choose from in order to raise money:

  • Raise money online using FirstGiving! This makes it easy so that fundraisers can have everything in one place and they are able to reach more people by using e-mail and social media to share their page. Fundraisers using FirstGiving can still collect off-line donations and track them on their page as well! Starting a personalized fundraiser page is very simple and only takes 10-15 minutes. To get started now, click here!
  • Raise money in person using a Pledge Form! You can take your pledge form with you door to door or ask anyone you know for a donation. Collect all of your contributions and track them on your pledge form. You then have the choice to pre-register and turn in your donations ahead of time, or you can bring everything with you on the day of the event. To get started, click here to print your pledge form!
The registration fee for fundraisers who raise $25 or more in pledges is waived!
