Blackie
This gorgeous, black cat is Blackie. He can be very shy when you first meet him, but once he becomes familiar with his surroundings, you'll see how extremely affectionate he is. He enjoys the company of everyone and it doesn't really take much to make him happy. Blackie was brought to the shelter as a stray and after being alone in a big, scary world, he is ready to find a furever home where he will feel safe and loved. He would do best with children over the age of 10. So if you are looking for a very affectionate, happy-go-lucky kitty, stop in and ask for Blackie! We are open today until 7:00pm.

Jessica
This gorgeous senior is 16 year old Jessica. You may recognize her from previous posts, but we thought we would update you on how our precious Jessica is doing. She was brought in to LHS in late February with matted fur. It was very uncomfortable for her. Since then, she has received a much needed haircut. She is now much happier and healthier and has even enjoyed a few play sessions with our volunteers. She has proven that age is just a number. This old girl is still young at heart and still has quite a bit of spunk left in her. Sweet Jessica has quickly become a favorite of our staff and volunteers and we hope she will soon find a furever retirement home.

Claire
This adorable face belongs to Claire, a 1 year old Labrador Retriever mix. This energetic lady is gentle, playful, friendly and loving. She even knows how to sit. Claire was transfered to LHS from the Ashtabula Apl. She has been with us since January and is hoping she will soon find her forever home. She must be the only pet and would do best around children over the age of 15. If you think Clair might be the right fit for you, come visit her today!

Aslan
Say hello to 1 year old Aslan a very small, handsome kittie. His favorite pastimes are head scratches and snuggling. You will quickly see it doesn't take much to make this guy happy. Aslan came to the shelter as a stray and is now hoping to find his furever home where he will be safe and loved. So if you are looking to add a very affectionate, very sweet, very handsome guy to your life (and lap), just ask for Aslan.

Jasper
This handsome man is Jasper. This one year old loves to play and is sure to entertain you with all of his crazy antics. He also enjoys being petted, and will quickly get his purring machine going. He came to the shelter as a stray and is now hoping to find a furever home that he can call his own. So stop on in to the shelter today and pay him a visit. He just might be your next best friend!

Snowball
This kitty's name is Snowball; a pretty fitting name for an all white cat with gorgeous blue eyes. This three year old male is calm and affectionate. He is always ready to soak up any attention you're willing to give him. He is also quite curious and really enjoys exploring his surroundings. Sadly, Snowball was brought to the shelter because his previous owner passed away. He is now hoping to find that special someone who will give him the one-on-one love and attention he truly misses. Since he prefers a more calm environment, he would do best in a home with children over the age of 15. Are you Snowball's special someone?

Do you want to make an even bigger impact in the lives of homeless animals? Then we have some exciting news for you! We have revamped our cage sponsorship program here at Lake Humane Society and we would like to invite you to help homeless animals. A cage sponsor covers the daily care of each animal that enters their designated cage for an entire year. We cannot provide a gentle and caring haven without YOU!

Our revamped Cage Sponsorship Program provides greater opportunities to help the homeless, abandoned and injured animals of Lake County. While our existing program has helped tremendously over the years, our new program reflects the true cost of care for each animal housed within our shelter. The sponsorship will provide shelter, food, medicine and care for the animals that pass through our facility day after day. In return, cage sponsors will be recognized with a plaque on their sponsored cage for an entire year. Cages can be sponsored by both companies and individuals.

To become a Cage Sponsor and help

countless homeless animals,visit our website!

Be sure to check and see if your company has a matching gift program in place in order to double (or even triple) your impact! We cannot do this without you. We thank you for your support.

Penny
This is Penny, a beautiful girl who is a bit shy. Once she warms up to you though, she really enjoys ear and chin scratches. Penny has been with us since October so, needless to say, she is ready to find her furever home. If you are looking for a sweet, loving, four-legged companion in your life, just ask for Penny!

Princess
This affectionate, friendly girl is Princess. Her favorite pastimes are cuddling and playtime. She is quite playful and it doesn't take much to get her purring machine going.
